KrazyBird Photography - Frequently Asked Questions

Listed here are the commonly asked questions about our services and our business. If you would like to send us an email with any additional questions, please feel free to email us at krazybirdphoto@verizon.net.

How many weddings have you done?

We began shooting weddings in 2007 and have over 50 weddings complete. We know the stresses associated with weddings and can help you organize the day to make it easy for us, as well as your guests.

How soon will my images be ready after my event or sitting?

We try to have most images processed within two weeks. We take this time after your event to make sure that every image we send meets our criteria for quality, clarity and printability. If you order a CD set, we will mail them with your printing release as soon as the images are completed and your final payment has cleared.

Why are your rates so low compared to other professional photographers?

We keep our rates low by charging a simple hourly rate for the services you need rather than a smaller fee up front and charging you per print. We realize that there are clients that will want a complete array of printing and editing options and we are happy to offer these services at the best rates possible.

Why did you stop offering single DVD's instead of a CD Set?

CD Sets replaced the single DVD's we used to send out simply due to the fact that they are more compatible with most computers. With different DVD players and media, they did not always work well together. The CD is a universal format that works well with most computers, photo processing locations and for displaying on televisions.

Why do you have a package that doesn't include a CD Set now?

Simply to keep our prices as low as possible for those that cannot afford the expense right now. When you book our basic package (4 hours, no CD set) your images are safely uploaded to a secure online gallery where you can purchase them in digital download form or by purchasing a print directly from our professional finishing services. This keeps your initial investment very low, for a very high quality service.

Do you shoot weddings of less than 4 hours?

After our experience with trying to make wedding photography fit into a 2-3 hour window, we realized that there is no real way to get everything captured that people usually want from that day, that quickly. 4 hours seems to be the minimum amount of time needed to capture the true feeling of the events of the day, without having to charge larger fees.

If you have need of wedding portraits or ceremony only coverage, please contact us to see if we might be available for a Portrait Session on your date. Usually these are only available in the off-season in the evenings.

What equipment are you using currently?

We use the Sony Alpha line of D-SLR cameras. We use the highest quality Sony Memory Stick Pro HG cards in our cameras that are rotated regularly. We also have portable backups in both laptop and 'Photo Bank' card reading hard drives to ensure you never have to lose a shot. When disaster strikes, we also have the most comprehensive image recovery software available. It recovers 99.9% of any images from damaged cards or drives. We use Sony Image Data SR and Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended software for post processing. We also store all images on an external drive for long term storage.

I hear alot of people talking about RAW and JPG images...

A professional level DSLR camera in the hands of a trained photographer will capture amazing quality images in either format. The primary difference between these two formats is that in JPG mode, the image processing is done inside the camera, allowing a complete image to be printed. In RAW mode, the digital image must be 'developed' by special software before printing is possible. RAW images contain much more data and offer more control over editing that is possible with JPG images.

How long will you store my images online?

Your online gallery will remain active for a minimum of 90 days. If orders are continuously placed from your gallery, it will remain active at least 90 days from the date of the last order.

Do you accept credit cards or other forms of payment?

We currently accept cash, check, money orders or credit cards and e-checks via Pay Pal. We do not process our own credit card transactions due to the high costs associated with private card processing. Please note that all PayPal transactions are subject to a 5% charge to cover our fees associated with using that service.
